What
does it take to protect your data?
Read
on and we'll show you.
Before
we discuss protecting your data, lets examine what
we are protecting it from. Below are some of the threats
your data is up against.
Theft
- Computer equipment is very profitable for thieves
and your equipment, regardless of age or function,
is a constant target. They may not care about your
data, but they also don't bother to leave a copy behind.
Fire/Flood/Earthquake
- Data may be an intangible asset. But it burns just
as good as anything else. Electronic data is very
sensitive to temperature, moisture, and shock.
Virus
- Not your common flu bug, computer viruses can wreak
havoc on your data. There are dozens of new varieties
emerging every day.
Hackers
- Some are mischievous kids making you a victim of
a random attack... and that's if you're lucky. Some
could be professionals hired to destroy your data.
Do you want to take that chance?
Hardware
Failure and User Error - By far the most
common threats and the most neglected as well. With
falling prices in hardware manufacturing, corners
are cut and quality is down - hard drives just don't
last as long as they once did.
Every day,
in every home and every office, your valuable data
is at risk. Can you eliminate the risk? No.
Can you
reduce the risk? Absolutely. And that will be discussed
on the next page.
But no
matter how hard you try, a new virus may emerge, a
hacker may get through, and you may lose your data
forever. No, you can't prevent loss completely...
but with proper backups, you can get it back.
Backup
methods, including our DAB service for your most critical
data, will be discussed in the following pages so
please read on.
